As a Full Time Catering Supervisor at the University of Ottawa you will be in charge of leading a team in a very exciting and busy environment.

  • The ability to not only follow directions but to also lead a team
  • Able to anticipate customer and department needs
  • Implement, train and follow up on Chartwells policies and procedures
  • Respond to guest inquiries and address all concerns in a timely manner
  • Provides detailed information regarding the menu and menu items
  • Represents Company in a courteous, efficient, and friendly manner in all customer and associate interactions.
  • Involved in all aspects of event management including setups, teardowns, buffet services, banquets, bar service etc.

Qualifications

  • Smart Serve Certification
  • Previous Supervisor experience in a catering capacity
  • Strong supervisory skills and the proven ability to motivate, lead, train and coach staff
  • Experience managing in a unionized setting is an asset
  • Exceptional client service skills and a positive attitude
  • Ability to interact with customers in order to assure customer satisfaction.
  • Ability to learn new skills and apply them
  • Detail-oriented and thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Able to work well under pressure
