Under established policies and procedures, this role assists with general accounting functions including transaction processing, ledger maintenance, reporting, budgeting support, and audit preparation. The Staff Accountant plays a key role in maintaining financial accuracy, integrity, and confidentiality while supporting sound financial operations across the portfolio. Salary: $60K Locations: Calgary or Canmore, AB Key Responsibilities Accounting Standard: Accounts are done in a timely manner with high accuracy. Assist Controller in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual closings. Assist in financial and tax audits, general ledger preparation. Updating financial data in databases to ensure the accuracy of the information. Reconcile bank accounts and credit card statements. Assist in overseeing A/P and A/R transactions. Assist in any inter-company transactions. Reconcile the intercompany accounts, and work with the Controller(s) on any discrepancies. Prepare GST and other tax returns. Balance sheet reconciliations including accruals and pre-paid expenses. Prepare complex journal entries. General Duties Standard: helping the finance team with general duties in an efficient and timely manner. Support management and other internal staff members and departments. Ensure effective communication with Clients and Consultants. Provide administration backup when needed. Other duties as assigned. Work independently and possess good time managements skills. Effectively communicate verbally and in writing. Uphold strict confidentiality. Requirements Be familiar with the operation and programming of the QuickBooks accounting system. Hold a business administration degree with accounting major or accountant of finance diploma. 5 years or experience in related accounting field.
