JOB DESCRIPTION
The Senior Data Management Manager will be part of the Defence Data Office within the Data and Information Enablement Team, working with the Deputy Head of Data Management to deliver data quality across Defence and driving adoption of enterprise-wide data capabilities. The role will focus on the management and delivery of a working capability (processes, frameworks, and technology) that enables data quality priorities under the data governance framework. This will be available for utilisation be organisations to drive consistency and coherence of Data Pan-Defence.
In this role you will partner with our Military, Function and Transformation programmes by working hand in hand with Data Governance peers in the Defence Data Office (DDO) function to deliver, manage, and assure in-life data capabilities. The role will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of approaches and professional artefacts to drive improvements with data standards, data policies, data ownership and data quality, fulfilling capability gaps that exist within Defence projects and organisations.

Where business needs allow, some roles may be suitable for a combination of office and home-based working. This is a non-contractual arrangement where all office-based employees will be expected to spend a minimum of 60% of their working time in office, subject to capacity and any required workplace adjustments. Requirements to attend other locations for official business, or work in another MOD office, will also count towards this level of attendance. The post does not offer relocation expenses.
External recruits who join the MOD who are new to the Civil Service will be subject to a six-month probation period.

RESPONSIBILITIES
· Be a strong advocate in the delivery of a working capability for Data Quality (including. processes, frameworks, and technology) for Defence data.
· Deliver, manage, and assure the in-life enterprise data capabilities spanning the Defence data domains, and support in embedding these in day-to-day activities and new projects and capabilities pan-Defence.
· Support implementation of capability delivery to enable Data Quality improvements, establishing, updating, and maintaining KPI’s surrounding Data Management and Data Quality.
· Responsible for the maturity of the data management framework, enabling Defence to comply with any applicable regulatory requirements.
· Engage with a wide range of stakeholders (pan-Defence, cross-Government, Partners, and Allies) to communicate the Defence data narrative and vision and drive adherence to the data management frameworks.
· Work in collaboration and close partnership with specialist consulting companies to successfully deliver on agreed work packages/statements of works.
