Behaviour Management Comparison CYCW Role Focus is on individualized, trauma-informed care for children and youth with complex behavioural and emotional needs. Behavioural challenges may include aggression, withdrawal, or resistance, understanding the “why” behind behaviour is critical. You are not just supervising, you ARE building therapeutic relationships, teaching coping strategies, and modelling healthy boundaries. Daycare Role Focus is on group routines, playtime, and general supervision. Behavioural guidance usually means teaching sharing, turn-taking, and following rules. Children typically come from stable homes, with fewer trauma-related behaviours. Care is often short-term (a few hours/day), not deeply individualized.
