We are looking for a motivated Yard Technician to join our team in Midland, TX. In this position, you will be responsible for maintaining an organized, safe, and efficient equipment yard. This role ensures accurate documentation and tracking of all compressor units, oversees preservation and protection of equipment, and safely operates heavy machinery to load, unload, and move units. The Yard Technician also supports inventory management, assists with equipment assembly and dismantling, and performs all duties with attention to detail and minimal supervision. Essential Job Functions: Maintain organization and cleanliness of the SE Yard. Keep an up-to-date yard map and submit monthly yard reports. Ensure all Bill of Lading (BOL) documentation is accurately completed and submitted for units entering and leaving the yard. Oversee preservation of compressor units, including filling out preservation paperwork and maintaining preservation logs. Prepare RED X (out-of-service) units for removal from the yard. Ensure all units are protected from environmental exposure. Safely operate a 30,000 LB forklift for moving and storing equipment. Load and unload compressor units from trucks with proper training. Dismantle engine and compressor components from packages as required. Assist in assembling small systems prior to field deployment. Work independently with minimal supervision. Support inventory and asset tracking efforts related to equipment movement and storage. Requirements Qualifications: High school diploma or GED required. Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record. Must pass pre-employment drug/alcohol screening and background check. Proven ability to work independently in a physically demanding environment. Experience operating heavy equipment, including large forklifts (30,000 LB or higher), preferred. Must be capable of being trained to safely load/unload heavy equipment. Mechanical aptitude and familiarity with natural gas compressor systems is a plus. Basic computer and documentation skills. Must be self-motivated, self-driven, and dependable. Strong commitment to safety and attention to detail. Physical Demands: The physical demands of this position include regular lifting (up to 50 pounds), standing, climbing, and operating heavy machinery. Work is primarily performed outdoors and may involve exposure to varying weather conditions, loud equipment, grease, oils, and mechanical components.
