We are hiring a Database Administrator. In this role you will be part of a team that is responsible for managing critical databases in 24x7 environment; monitoring the health of db2 systems to ensure high availability; addressing client’s requirements as well as designing new database applications. You will be a part Database Administration Group consisting of 10 Database Administrators supporting complete data management for some of the world’s largest brokerage firms. The environment consists of 2 Production Data-sharing Groups composed of members and corresponding test, QA and UAT environments for a total of 23 DB2 Version 12 Subsystems consisting of over 800 DB2 databases and 25,000 tables utilizing over 70 Terabytes of Data.
Responsible for all activities related to the administration of DB2 z/OS databases and Replication to various platforms. Implement complex or non-routine data models and database designs and data access and table maintenance. Consults with application development teams and advises them of the correct usage of appropriate data manipulation techniques. Implement changes into development, QA and production environments and monitor database and system performance. Provide assistance to IT team members with issues needing technical expertise ..
Main Responsibilities:
Implement complex or non-routine data models and database designs and data access and table maintenance. Work on database performance issues, database capacity issues, replication and other distributed data issues.
Confer with and advise Development groups on administrative policies and procedures, technical problems, priorities, and methods.
Consults with application development teams and advises them of the correct usage of appropriate data manipulation techniques.
Responsible for space management, backup, monitoring and maintaining ongoing performance of databases and develops updates or modifications according to business needs. Monitor and review the work of other database administrators to ensure correct practices and procedures.
