Essential Functions/ Responsibilities Escort patients to examination rooms, obtain vital signs, review, and reconcile pertinent patient information and history in preparation for appointment with provider. Administer diagnostic tests and physician-approved procedures, such as immunizations and others as assigned. Successfully collaborate and work in support of the team to ensure efficient and quality patient care. Update the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) with relevant information. Successfully work in a fast-paced, changing environment. with effective time management and ability to multi-task and prioritize workload. Schedule patient appointments answer the telephone, and follow-up with patients/families in a professional and courteous manner. Participate in site-specific and clinic-wide initiatives on an ongoing basis. Attend and actively participate in huddles and team meetings. Always maintain confidentiality of sensitive patient information. Sustain excellent patient interactions using clear communication and problem-solving skills. Ability to maintain acceptable standards of office conduct. Punctual, regular, timely, and dependable attendance. Metropolitan Pediatrics participates in E-Verify to confirm employees’ eligibility to work in the U.S. Qualifications Education/ Experience High school education or equivalent required. 6-12 months of experience in a clinical setting or relevant courses taken at an accredited vocational school, or a combination of both required. Medical assistant certification/license preferred (CCMA, CMA, RMA, NCMA, EMT or LPN). If not currently certified, this position requires successfully obtaining medical assistant credentials within 6 months from date of hire and must be kept current. Prior EMR experience preferred. CPR and basic life support required and maintained.
