Description POSITION SUMMARY As a Retail Pharmacy Clerk, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the operations of our pharmacy. You will be responsible for assisting pharmacists and pharmacy technicians in providing excellent customer service, maintaining inventory, and ensuring a smooth workflow within the pharmacy. Position Summary Expanded: Under the Oklahoma Medical Marijuana and Patient Protection Act,?(“The Unity Bill”) this position is considered a “Safety-sensitive position. “Safety-sensitive” is defined to include “any job that includes tasks or duties that could affect the safety and health of the employee performing the task or others.” Employees working in “safety-sensitive” roles are subject to this exception and subject to disciplinary action in the event of a positive test for marijuana or its metabolites. Requirements ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES The essential functions and responsibilities, but are not limited to the following: Customer Service: Greet and assist customers in a friendly and professional manner. Answer customer inquiries regarding medications, prices, and insurance coverage. Process prescription orders accurately and efficiently. Handle customer complaints or concerns with empathy and resolve issues promptly. 2. Prescription Processing: Assist in filling prescriptions under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist or pharmacy technician. Retrieve and file prescription orders. Maintain confidentiality of patient information at all times. Ensure accuracy in labeling and packaging of medications. 3.Inventory Management: Monitor and maintain inventory levels of medications and supplies. Receive, unpack, and stock incoming shipments. Rotate stock and check expiration dates regularly. Assist with periodic inventory counts and reconciliations. 4. Administrative Duties: Perform administrative tasks such as answering phones, scheduling appointments, and handling paperwork. Enter prescription and customer information accurately into the pharmacy computer system. Verify insurance information and process claims. 5. Compliance and Safety: Adhere to all pharmacy regulations and guidelines, including HIPAA and FDA regulations. Follow proper procedures for handling and disposal of medications. Maintain a clean and organized work environment. Report any safety hazards or incidents to management promptly. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES) High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Previous experience in a retail or healthcare setting preferred. Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively. Attention to detail and accuracy in handling medications and paperwork. Basic math skills for calculating dosages and prices. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Familiarity with pharmacy computer systems and software is a plus. Willingness to learn and adapt to new procedures and regulations. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
