ABOUT CALHN

As an Associate Nurse Unit Manager in the dynamic 8Ew1 respiratory ward, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality care to patients with acute and chronic respiratory conditions, including those receiving state-wide services for tuberculosis, cystic fibrosis, and lung transplants. This high-acuity ward requires specialist skills, such as chest drain care, high flow oxygen therapy, non-invasive ventilation, and tracheostomy care, including invasive ventilation. You will guide and support a dedicated team of nurses, helping them grow from competent to proficient practitioners.
In this leadership role, you will assist the Nurse Unit Manager in managing ward operations, ensuring continuity and consistency of care, and driving practice improvements. Your responsibilities will include supporting staff development, overseeing performance management, and assisting with staffing, rostering, and supplies planning. If you are passionate about respiratory care and ready to make an impact in a fast-paced, supportive environment, this is an excellent opportunity to further your career.
