JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Estimator to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in assessing project costs and ensuring that budgets are adhered to throughout the project lifecycle. This position requires strong skills in cost control and the ability to communicate effectively, negotiating with suppliers, gaining quotes from subcontractors and be able to use this information to compile detailed cost proposals for a client, ensuring margins in line with company forecasts. The successful candidate with be experienced with tendering for business and compiling compelling bids for works.

REQUIREMENTS

• Proven experience as an Estimator or in a similar role within the construction or manufacturing industry.
• Strong understanding of cost control principles and practices.
• Excellent analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
• Proficient in using estimation software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to present complex information clearly.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work from surveys and fire strategy drawings.
• Relevant qualifications in construction management, engineering, or a related field are preferred but not essential.
• Dependable, conscientious, and professional attitude in all communications.

• Demonstratable experience in Passive Fire Protection or similar compliance environment highly advantageous.
• Prepare accurate cost estimates for projects by analysing blueprints, specifications, and other relevant documents.
• Collaborate with project managers and engineers to understand project requirements and scope.
• Conduct thorough market research to gather data on material and labour costs.
• Monitor ongoing project expenses to ensure adherence to budgetary constraints.
• Identify potential cost-saving opportunities and recommend strategies for cost control.
• Maintain detailed records of estimates, bids, and contracts for future reference.
• Communicate effectively with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors regarding project costs and timelines.
• Assist in the preparation of tender submissions and proposals.
