Processes orders for products received by mail, telephone, or personally from the customer or company employee. Partial Position Summary ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING. OTHER DUTIES MAY BE ASSIGNED. Informs customer of unit prices, shipping date, anticipated delays, and any additional information needed by customer. Provides price quotations for customers, prospective customers, and sales people. Writes, types, or edits orders, or enters data accurately into computer, to determine total cost for customer. Records or files copies of orders. Assists in ascertaining credit rating of customer. Checks inventory control and notifies stock control departments of orders that would deplete stock. Determines production routing of custom orders according to specifications and machine capabilities. Expedites "hot" orders. Initiates purchase requisitions. Routes orders to appropriate department for order processing. Follows up on orders to ensure delivery by specified dates. Investigates and resolves routine requests and customer complaints. Confers with production, sales, shipping, and warehouse staff to expedite orders and trace missing or delayed shipments. Work requires minimal supervision on projects and tasks. Performs a variety of miscellaneous tasks that may be assigned by management representatives from time-to-time. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
