Compliance and Accounting Officer
You will be responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring the company's compliance framework to ensure adherence to all applicable legal, regulatory, ethical, and internal policy requirements within the precious metals and gold bullion trading industry. The role oversees the Compliance Department, supports risk management initiatives, and ensures compliance with AML/CFT regulations, responsible sourcing standards, supply chain due diligence, and ISO requirements.
You will serve as the Alternate Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO), liaise with regulatory authorities, and act on behalf of the company.
You will also serve as Accounting Manager and manage end-to-end accounting operations, financial reporting, inventory control, and UAE VAT compliance.
Key Roles and Responsibilities:
• Lead and manage the Compliance Department, ensuring adherence to all applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies.
• Serve as the Alternate Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO) and liaise with regulatory authorities on AML and responsible supply chain compliance requirements.
• Develop, implement, and monitor compliance policies, procedures, and internal control systems.
• Review and approve the onboarding of new and existing clients, suppliers, and business partners, ensuring full KYC, AML, and compliance requirements are met.
• Conduct supply chain due diligence and risk assessments for clients and suppliers in line with industry standards.
• Prepare supplier Risk Mitigation Reports and maintain the company's Risk Management Policy.
• Conduct compliance training and awareness programs for employees, senior management, and external stakeholders.
• Prepare and submit biannual Compliance Management Reports for senior management.
• Support internal audits, and regulatory inspections if any.
• Assist the Management Representative (MR) in maintaining ISO compliance and certification requirements.
• Perform all compliance-related duties assigned by Senior Management.
• Prepare financial statements and handle month-end closing
• Manage general ledger, journal entries, and bank reconciliations
• Oversee AP/AR and cash flow
• Reconcile POS sales and account balances
• Supervise stock taking and inventory valuation (Bullions of gold, silver etc)
• Monitor stock movement and investigate variances
• Ensure UAE VAT compliance and support audits
• Provide sales, margin, and inventory analysis
• Bank account onboarding and coordination with banks
Education: Bachelor’s in Accounting/Finance; CA preferred
Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in compliance, preferably within the financial services, gold refining, jewellery/retail or wholesale gold or a similar highly regulated industry.
Certifications: Certifications in TFS-DNFBPs, DMCC-AML-CFT, or other relevant AML/CFT certifications.
Skills:
• Strong knowledge of government regulations, particularly in AML/CFT.
• Strong knowledge of inventory accounting, ERP/POS systems
• Advanced Excel and analytical skills
• Effective time management and organizational skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
• Critical thinking and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
Job Type: Full-time; 6 days a week
Salary:
AED 8,000 to 8,500 per month inclusive of fixed allowances.
