ABOUT US:

At On Guard Fire Protection, we are dedicated to delivering exceptional fire alarm and life safety solutions across commercial, residential, and industrial sectors. We are currently seeking an experienced and highly organized Fire Alarm Design Manager to lead our design team, ensure code compliance, and drive operational efficiency from concept through permit approval.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• 5+ years of experience in fire alarm system design
• Prior leadership or management experience in a design or engineering environment
• Strong knowledge of NFPA 72, NEC, IBC, and local fire codes
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, or other CAD tools (AlarmCAD a bonus)
• NICET Level III or IV in Fire Alarm Systems preferred
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills

• Lead and manage the Fire Alarm Design Team, ensuring timely and accurate project delivery
• Oversee the creation of fire alarm system drawings in accordance with NFPA, local codes, AHJ requirements, and project / sales documents
• Coordinate design activities with project managers, field teams, and clients
• Review and approve design documents, material lists, and submittals
• Serve as the primary liaison with AHJs for plan review and permitting
• Train and mentor junior designers; establish and maintain design standards. Manage subcontract designers
• Track project progress, design hours, and deliverables to ensure deadlines and budgets are met
