Job Description Responsibilities: The Structural Designer will be responsible for producing structural engineering designs and modifications by identifying project objectives and issues; researching and developing structural engineering techniques and approaches; verifying and validating designs. In particular, the duties will encompass the following: Complete feasibility studies by studying project concepts, objectives, priorities, and requirements; conduct site investigations; identify and establish performance standards; Organize structural engineering design project by identifying short-term and long-range issues; preparing timetables, cost estimates, and required resources; Develop structural design plans by researching, analyzing, selecting, and applying structural engineering concepts, approaches, techniques, and criteria; performing design calculations relating to foundations and structures, loading, structural response, and connection design; preparing drawings; collaborating with related engineering design teams; evaluating structural materials and suppliers; identifying and resolving design integration issues; determining and establishing design specifications. Prepare and/or review structural related specification sections; Verify and support construction by performing field visits; resolving construction problems related to structural design; coordinating and conferring with construction and production contractors; Comply with codes and regulations by applying and enforcing adherence to regulations and testing requirements; Maintain engineering design team accomplishments by coordinating actions; obtaining expert input; reviewing open issues and action items; contributing information and structural engineering analysis to team meetings and reports; guiding structural engineering technicians; and Prepare reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing structural engineering data and trends. Qualifications Education and Experience: Employer requires a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering and two years of experience working with AutoCAD.
