Job Summary:
As a Procurement & Supply Chain Executive at Pulsin, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing and optimizing our supply chain operations. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you will be responsible for managing key aspects of the supply chain process to ensure efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and timely delivery of products.
Responsibilities:
o Advising the NPD Technologist with
§ Ingredient selection
§ Reaching product cost targets
§ Ensuring shelf life of product and tracking over time to ensure quality
§ Organising and effectively managing machine trials
§ Assisting in legal information for packaging
o Working with product department to assess innovative products, ingredients and production processes
o Translating results to a commercially valid solution
o Signing off reports for yearly submission to HMRC
- Ingredient and Packaging Purchase and Strategy
§ Reduce value of raw material holdings by both reducing purchase costs and stock holding
· Negotiation of better costs
· Strategizing to increase stock turnover
· Minimize company exposure to poor supply contracts
· Improve reporting and ability to monitor ongoing changes
§ Planning to ensure availability of stock when required and use of stock before expiry or excessive hold duration
· Working to improve forecasting using historical data
· Improving reporting and ability to monitor ongoing changes
§ Ensure purchases meet quality criteria
- Leveraging position between product, procurement and operations so that any commercial decisions involving launch or delist are optimally managed and communicated.
- Supporting technical/quality department
- Supporting the production department
o Managing production recipes
o Solving production problems
- Develop and implement supply chain strategies to enhance operational efficiency and meet business objectives.
- Collaborate with internal teams, suppliers, and logistics partners to streamline processes and improve supply chain performance.
- Utilize systems such as SAP to track inventory levels, orders, and shipments.
- Negotiate contracts with suppliers to secure favourable terms and pricing.
- Oversee logistics activities including transportation, warehousing, and distribution.
- Monitor supply chain metrics and KPIs to identify areas for improvement.
- Lead cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement initiatives within the supply chain.
- Stay informed about industry trends and best practices in supply chain management.
Skills:
- Proven experience in supply chain management or related field.
- Familiarity with SAP or similar ERP systems.
- Strong negotiation skills to secure advantageous supplier contracts.
- In-depth knowledge of supply chain principles, logistics, and procurement processes.
- Ability to analyse data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
- Problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to addressing challenges.
