As CFO, you will guide the strategic financial direction of a rapidly growing government and economic portfolio, overseeing financial strategy, treasury, investment, risk, reporting, and modernization. WHAT YOU’LL DO * Lead the strategic financial direction and operations of the Squamish Nation Government. * Develop and implement long-term financial strategies aligned with the Nation’s Generational and Strategic Plans. * Advise Council, the Executive Director, and senior leadership on financial sustainability, investment opportunities, and risk exposure. * Oversee capital and infrastructure financing strategies for projects exceeding $1B in value. * Negotiate financing arrangements with governments, lenders, investors, and development entities. * Manage treasury, reserve, and debt strategies while ensuring long-term financial health and liquidity. * Provide financial oversight for Nation-owned entities, ensuring alignment with community priorities and governance values. * Ensure compliance with the Financial Administration Law, audit standards, and funding conditions. * Modernize financial systems and implement strong internal controls, risk frameworks, and transparent reporting processes. * Lead annual and multi-year budgeting, financial forecasting, and performance reporting across departments. * Build and mentor a high-performing finance team that exemplifies excellence, accountability, and collaboration. * Represent the Nation in financial negotiations and partnerships with credibility, diplomacy, and integrity. * Support financial education and literacy across the organization and community. * Champion financial stewardship that balances growth with cultural responsibility and Nation values.
