COMPANY OVERVIEW

The Wilding Hotel is a recently refurbished, family run hotel in the Eden Valley, Cumbria. Owned by The Harker Family, we pride ourselves on delivering exceptional guest experiences, whether they are enjoying a relaxing stay, dining with us, or enjoying a casual drink in our bar. This 17 bedroom boutique hotel has a public bar, lounge, restaurant and function room. The family also run Eden Wedding Barn, located 5 miles away from the hotel, winner of Cumbria Tourism Awards Wedding Venue of the Year 2025. The hotel’s main clientele are wedding guests staying overnight.
We are seeking a talented and experienced Head Chef with at least 3 years of experience to lead our kitchen team and help us deliver outstanding dining experiences for our guests.

SUMMARY

We are looking for a Head Chef with strong management skills and creative flare, who is passionate about food and has a positive mindset. In this role, you will be cooking classic favourites with a twist and will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of food production and culinary excellence, ensuring that our guests receive exceptional dining experiences.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Proven experience as a Head Chef or in a similar role within the hospitality industry.
  • Proven loyalty in a previous role.
  • Ability to work to food budgets.
  • Strong culinary skills with a passion for food production and presentation.
  • Excellent leadership abilities to manage and inspire a kitchen team.
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices.
  • Ability to work under pressure while maintaining high standards of quality.
