Dans le but de satisfaire les clients, le sous-chef applique les recettes et les façons de faire du chef dans la préparation des aliments et la confection des repas. Sa mission première étant de livrer une expérience alimentaire de la meilleure qualité possible pour tous les résidents. En tant que membre à part entière du milieu de vie, le sous-chef participe aux activités de la résidence et collabore à la réalisation et à l’amélioration des services dédiés à la clientèle.
Sous la responsabilité du Chef de cuisine, le sous-chef participe à la préparation de la nourriture pour tous les clients soit : les résidents, les visiteurs et les employés. La personne doit tout mettre en oeuvre pour maintenir un haut niveau de qualité des préparations, tenir les locaux et équipements propres selon les normes d’hygiène et de salubrité du MAPAQ et respecter les standards de l’entreprise. La personne doit également collaborer à maintenir le bon fonctionnement de la cuisine. Par une communication saine et positive, toute l’équipe de la cuisine doit s’assurer d’un bon climat pour tous.
