The Head of Production Management, Montreal, is a key part of the local management team, working alongside the Head of Resource Management, the heads of departments and creative supervisors as well as the Head of Production in Montreal.
Reporting to the Managing Director, the overall purpose of the role is to oversee the production management team to ensure the best casting of teams on various projects, the career development of the team and making sure that the team follow best practices and get training where required.

SKILLS REQUIRED:

• Previous experience in a producer or production management position
• Extensive experience with team management including performance, pay, mentoring and coaching
• Problem solving skills
• Negotiation skills and diplomacy
• A proven ability to establish good relationships and an understanding of how to build a successful team

Cette personne travaille avec le ou la chef de la gestion des ressources, les chefs de service, les superviseurs et les superviseures de la création ainsi que le ou la chef de la production.
Sous la supervision du directeur général ou de la directrice générale, le ou la chef de la gestion de la production a pour rôle principal de superviser l’équipe de gestion de la production pour garantir l’affectation optimale des ressources aux différents projets, en plus de veiller au perfectionnement professionnel et à la formation des membres de l’équipe et au respect des pratiques exemplaires

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Production Management

• Responsible for recruitment and daily management of local line producers, coordinators and production assistants
• Appraisals for all line producers, coordinators and production assistants in conjunction with the Production Department Manager
• Assess local production needs; allocating relevant production teams to each project in conjunction with the Production Department Manager
• Joint responsibility, alongside the Head of Production, for monitoring production tools and workflows, especially as they pertain to multisite working
• Joint responsibility, alongside the Head of Production, for new show set-up needs and procedures

VFX Production and Resourcing

• To meet regularly with the team of line producers, coordinators and production assistants to monitor project progress and ensure best practice
• Engage in Montreal production team mentoring, support and training as agreed
• Assess recruitment needs for the department in conjunction with the Production Department Manager
• To be available to assist on specific projects if required

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Work alongside the Head of Resource Management and Head of Production to assess crewing needs for all VFX projects
• Liaise with the resourcing team, HODs and other key support departments as needed
