The Thornton Tomasetti Construction Engineering Practice leverages our core Structural Engineering expertise to meet the engineering needs of our contractor. We provide contractor support engineering, tower crane engineering, skip hoist engineering, shoring and reshoring design, excavation and earth retention engineering, connection design, erection engineering, contractor support engineering. We also partner with contractors and sub-contractors to provide value engineering ideas and perform structural design on design-build projects.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Degree (master preferred) in structural engineering or related field.
• Working knowledge of current industry software, including SAP2000, ETABS, RAM, Risa3-D, PCA Software, Revit, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

THE ROLE

We are seeking a talented Structural Engineer for our Construction Engineering Practice. The Engineer will be involved in tower crane and skip hoist engineering, shoring/ reshoring design, earth retention system design, temporary stability analysis, and the design of structures. The successful applicant will assist in the design of structures that are delegated to the contractor.
This is a full-time entry level position for Summer 2026.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Responsible for structural analysis, design, detailing of steel, concrete, masonry, and timber systems.
• Coordination of design work with in-house staff as we as other design professionals including Architects and other Engineering disciplines.
• Preparation of construction documents within a BIM environment.
