Verifies patient insurance eligibility/benefits and communicates financial responsibilities to patients, caregivers, and other health care providers. Reviews, obtains, and logs appropriate medical documentation that supports the reimbursement of equipment/supplies. Performs accurate data entry into operating system and processes orders for appropriate equipment/supplies to ensure delivery and correct billing. Communicates with patients, employees, payers, caregivers, and other health care providers on status of orders. Collects payments from patients for coinsurance, copays, and self-pay items. Obtains written orders and prior authorization for appropriate equipment/supplies. Ensures compliance with Medicare, Medicaid and Accreditation Standards. Works in a constant state of alertness and safe manner. Performs other duties as assigned. EDUCATION High School diploma/GED or 10 years of work experience EXPERIENCE Two years' experience PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Frequent lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 0-25 lbs.
