The Medical Assistant will be responsible for assisting the physician/APRN(s) with patient care, clerical, data entry, medical record obtainment, environmental and organizational tasks, assisting with medical procedures, obtaining appropriate consents, conducting patient handoffs and providing information to patients so they may fully utilize and benefit from the practices services. Responsibilities Thoroughly completes patient intake and rooms the patient, preparing them for examination and treatment Completes and documents patient intake including, but not limited to reason for visit, medical history, medications, current conditions and vital signs in the EHR Responsible in selection, setup and maintenance of medical supplies and equipment for all examinations and procedures, including advanced planning and subsequent sterilization afterward Gives injections, applies splints and dressings, and facilitates simple wound management under APRN or physician orders Required to draw and collect blood samples and specimens from patients and prepare/transport specimens for laboratory analysis with the highest level of care to ensure no errors and the highest level of patient comfort and care Responsible for charting on behalf of clinician ensuring information is accurate and documented correctly.
