The Role This role provides bachelor’s-level professionals with invaluable experience working with children and adolescents in the psychology field. Mental health practitioners are assigned to one or more groups of children ages 3-6, 7-12, or 13-17 and work in a structured group therapy setting. This is a highly collaborative role, integrated with various members of the Clinic's treatment team. Practitioners may also carry a caseload of skills training clients, as assigned. About The Clinic Lorenz Clinic is dedicated to moving beyond merely treating symptoms to addressing the underlying issues that sustain them. Job Duties Job duties include: Perform skills-training services under supervision of a mental health professional and in conjunction with psychotherapy Carry and maintain a caseload as determined by the Clinic Collaborate with mental health professionals to create and implement clinical treatment plans Provide clinical services including preschool day treatment and group skills training Attend and actively participate in individual and/or group supervision, monthly case consultation, Grand Rounds, business meetings, and other meetings as required by the Clinic Comply with clinical documentation standards and deadlines as outlined by the Clinic Utilize the Clinic’s electronic health record to maintain the clinical chart Maintain HIPAA compliance at all times Maintain professionalism in all interactions with staff, patients, and business associates of the Clinic Bill appropriate procedural codes in an accurate and timely manner Keeping abreast of billing issues and discuss with patients when necessary Assist in intermittent peer-reviews of patient files Adhere to additional directives by applicable direct clinical and administrative supervisors Other duties as assigned Requirements Qualifications A Bachelor's degree in psychology, social work, or closely related behavioral science field. Candidates with master’s degrees are encouraged to alternatively consider the clinic’s Post-Master’s Fellowship. 2,000 hours of experience in the delivery of mental health services to people with mental illness. Candidates who have completed a practicum or internship that requires direct interaction with adults or children served, and is focused on behavioral sciences or related fields may qualify and are encouraged to apply regardless of whether they have 2000 hours of experience.
