Position Summary
All members of the Sexton Transport team will demonstrate respect and ethical conduct, will work safely, provide excellent customer service, and will work with the team to support superior performance in the achievement of both individual and company goals.
Reporting to the Transportation Manager, the Long-Haul Driver is responsible for the safe, efficient and damage free delivery of supplies to Kenroc Branches, Sexton Members, and customer locations. The Long-Haul Driver will be capable of solving loading and unloading issues should they arise.

Key Responsibilities

• Understands and ensures consistent compliance with company policy, procedures, and safe work practices.
• Delivers product efficiently and undamaged to a location over a long distance.
• Completes daily truck preventative maintenance inspections and maintains the safe operation of the vehicle.
• Operates the vehicle in a safe and efficient manner under all weather conditions.
• Ensures all materials invoiced are safely and accurately loaded on the truck.
• Ensures weight is distributed properly on the truck and all weight regulations met.
• Ensures material is secured on the truck, with straps, tarps or chains.
• Ensures customer job sites are left unharmed.
• Completes paperwork and keeps travel records efficiently and accurately.
• Projects and upholds a clean, respectable, and professional image.

As a member of the Sexton Transport, employees may be requested to contribute to duties outside of the role’s main scope of responsibilities as per required qualifications, licensing, and safety certifications.

Skills & Qualifications

• Requires level of literacy and numeracy normally associated with a GED (Grade 12) education.
• Professional Class 1A driving license is required for this position.
• Education or training in Mechanical Repair would give added confidence to this position.
• Previous “Super B” experience is beneficial.
