The hotel receptionist is responsible for providing friendly, welcoming and efficient service to all hotel guests, in line with the hotels vision and values on customer satisfaction. The main purpose of the hotel receptionists are to: · Respond courteously to guest’s requests, to ensure a comfortable and pleasant stay. · Play a part in the day to day running of the reception desk. · Undertake front of house duties, including meeting, greeting and attending to the needs of guests. · To ensure a superb customer service experience · To build a good rapport with guests and and resolve any complaints/issues to a satisfactory level. · To be responsible for accurate and efficient accounts and billing processes · To assist in keeping the hotel reception area clean and tidy at all times. · To take bookings for food and beverage for residents and non residents, and adhering to the hotels booking polices. · To undertake general office duties, including emailing, correspondence, filing and switchboard to ensure the smooth running of the reception area, to administer all routes of reservations to ensure to ensure the room bookings are made and recorded accurately, to ensure that all reservations and cancellations are processed efficiently. · To keep up to date with room prices and special offers to provide accurate information to guests. · To communicate well with other departments within the hotel. · To administer the general petty cash system and float in an accurate manner. · to undertake all training as required, to adhere to all fire safety test procedures and to assist in the evacuation process in the event of a fire . · A friendly and welcoming approach, high standards of dress and presentation. · To have the ability to remain calm in difficult situations or in a very busy environment. · to have the ability to work unsupervised as well as part or a team. Previous experience in a similar position is preferred, full training will be given.
