The Regional Head – Pre-Sales / Business Development Southeast Asia will play a pivotal role in the expansion and market positioning of the American Welding Society’s (AWS) business development initiatives.
The candidate will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, nurturing relationships with technical societies, trade organizations, educational institutions, corporations, and government agencies and collaborating with technical teams to deliver tailored solutions for AWS Certification programs.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
· Bachelor’s degree in business, Engineering, or a related field; an MBA or equivalent is an asset.
· 8+ years of experience in business development, pre-sales, or sales roles, ideally within the industrial, engineering, or certification sector.
· Familiarity with the welding industry, fabrication, or AWS products and services is highly desirable.
· Strong analytical and research skills with the ability to synthesize information into actionable strategies.
· Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
· Demonstrated ability to build and maintain client relationships and networks.
· Experience with CRM and sales enablement tools.
· Willingness to travel for client meetings, industry events, and conferences as required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
· Identify and pursue new business opportunities, partnerships, and markets relevant to AWS products, services, and certification programs.
· Engage in lead generation activities, qualifying prospects, and maintaining a robust sales pipeline.
· Conduct market research and competitor analysis to inform strategic positioning and value proposition development.
· Work closely with the technical and sales teams to prepare presentations, demonstrations, and proposals for prospective clients.
· Participate in industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities to promote AWS and establish key relationships.
· Assist in the development and negotiation of contracts, pricing structures, and partnership agreements under guidance from senior management.
· Support the onboarding and integration of new clients, ensuring a seamless transition from prospect to long-term partner.
· Monitor industry trends to identify emerging business opportunities and potential threats.
· Prepare regular status reports, forecasts, and presentations for leadership and stakeholders.
