We are searching for a General Manager to join our Parkland on the Commons team based in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

ABOUT US

It all began in 1988 when our Founder, Joseph Shannon, purchased a single nursing home in his hometown of Sydney, Cape Breton. For more than three decades, Shannex has grown as a trusted provider of senior accommodations, services and care in Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, and Ontario. Our industry-leading services are inspired by residents and delivered by Parkland Retirement Living and Lifestyle Residences, Shannex Enhanced Care, Faubourg du Mascaret, Transitional Health and Care at Home team members who create an exceptional resident experience and a positive, fulfilling work environment where every voice matters.

Responsibilities

Undergraduate degree in health-related field, business or hospitality required
Master’s degree in health-related field, business or hospitality an asset
Minimum 5 years management experience
Previous experience in working with the elderly in long-term care or a seniors retirement living environment an asset
Extensive knowledge of the Halifax (HRM) area
Experience Managing in a Unionized environment
Diploma in gerontology an asset
Must be willing to participate in related professional affiliations as identified by the organizatio
