POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for patient care under the direction and plan of an Occupational Therapist. Supervises and aids in direct patient care and other activities as needed. This a 30 hour work week position. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Provides occupational therapy treatment according to an established treatment plan under the supervision of a licensed occupational therapist. Provides effective communication with patients, family members, referring physicians, and the therapy treatment team. Provides timely written documentation, treatment notes, portions of monthly progress notes, and discharge summaries per facility and department requirements. Maintains patient records confidentially in accordance with HIPAA guidelines. Prepares and submits patient charges accurately to provide appropriate billing information to be reviewed and signed off by supervising therapist. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: Completion of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program. Current Pennsylvania Occupational Therapy Assistant license or license eligible. Outpatient experience preferred, not required. CPR certification is required.
