EXPERIENCE YOU’LL NEED TO HAVE:

• 7+ years of current experience in mainframe development and production support
• 7+ years of experience in an IBM Mainframe environment – proficient with COBOL, JCL, VSAM, and working with IBM Mainframe ZOS toolsets.
• 5+ years of experience working within the banking and financial industry as it relates to the processing of Credit/Debit/Retail/Healthcare cards from the Acquiring and Issuing perspective.
• 5+ years of experience working with MQ Series, InterTest, Abend-Aid and SQL.
• 3+ years of experience with Job Scheduling (CA7); IDCAMS, SyncSort; File-Master; File Transmission (FTP/NDM); Endevor
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education, work, and military experience

EXPERIENCE THAT WOULD BE GREAT TO HAVE:

• Experience in Financial Services more specifically supporting credit card processing systems/applications
• Knowledge of Visa Base II format, MC IPM format, Amex and Discover format
• Experience supporting credit card processing systems/applications
• REXX experience
• Experience with Agile Methodology

ABOUT YOUR ROLE:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Mainframe Cobol Developer to join our Core Processing team. You will bring to life the systems that power our credit card processing applications. Your will interact with cross-functional teams, including Application Development teams, Product Managers, Project Managers, Global Infrastructure Operations (GIO) resources, and Client/Partner IT resources. You will leverage your experience in mainframe development and support, particularly with COBOL, VSAM, JCL, and Batch processes. This role involves development, testing, and on-call production support. This role will be part of the transformation of our financial services technologies to align with our client’s success.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

• Design, develop, and maintain mainframe applications using COBOL, VSAM, JCL and IBM Mainframe ZOS toolsets
• Provide support for development and testing environments to ensure smooth application deployment
• Provide on-call production support (rotational) for mainframe applications, troubleshooting issues and providing timely resolutions
• Utilize Broadcom tools (CA7, Endevor, etc.) for job scheduling, version control, and application management
• Collaborate with business analysts and stakeholders to gather requirements and implement solutions that meet business needs
• Conduct code reviews and participate in system testing to ensure high-quality deliverables
• Document technical specifications and maintain detailed records of system configurations and changes
• Stay updated with industry trends and best practices in mainframe technologies and tools
