Located on the western edge of the Bowen Basin, Clermont Open Cut is a high performing truck & shovel operation that produces 12 million tonnes of coal per annum. Reporting to the Contracts Superintendent, this role will offer variety and opportunity to the right individual. In this role you will be responsible for: The procurement of goods and services (purchasing officer duties) in accordance with Glencore Coal Assets policies and procedures Maintaining a consistent flow of goods to the operation in line with our site requirements, contractual agreements and budget Liaising with the internal and external customers to ensure a high level of services are maintained at all times Monitoring supplier performance via KPI reporting and conduct regular strategic meetings with key stakeholders to monitor and improve ongoing service levels Facilitation of weekly and monthly data for department and management reports Preparation of Request for Tender documentation Evaluation and negotiation of quotations/tender, and the formation of contracts documentation You will utilise the expertise and knowledge of best practice contract management to optimise procurement outcome Coordination of the day-to-day operations of the Procurement function Supplier Pre-Qualification administration / auditing Contracts administration (ad hoc) Requirements of the role include: Secondary Education and/or Trade/Tertiary qualifications (Commercial/Engineering – desirable). Prior Purchasing / Procurement experience Previous experience in the Mining industry (highly desirable) SAP Experience (desirable) An exceptional attention to detail along with an enthusiastic and self-motivated attitude Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with various stakeholders Ability to prioritise work in a fast-paced dynamic environment Previous experience with SAP system (highly regarded) QLD Drivers Licence This role requires a safety conscious candidate prepared to challenge the norm, drive continuous improvement and who can demonstrate experience in implementing best practise using a hands-on approach.
