In order to deliver on the University’s ambitious strategic plan, the University is seeking academics who are passionate about improving health outcomes and/or health equity in the local, national and global communities, who are committed to teaching and research, and area team player ready to contribute across the broad field of academic activities. The University is seeking a highly motivated Clinical Trial Coordinator ( HEO 5) to contribute to the SLEEP-MSK adaptive basket randomised controlled trial, which evaluates whether adding cognitive behavioural therapy for insomnia (CBT-I) to usual physiotherapy care improves pain, sleep, and function in people with chronic low back pain, hip osteoarthritis, or knee osteoarthritis. SLEEP-MSK is a two-arm, superiority, adaptive basket randomised controlled trial including participants with one of three chronic MSK conditions—chronic low back pain, hip osteoarthritis, or knee osteoarthritis—and co-existing insomnia Your key responsibilities will be to: Support the end-to-end clinical trial process, assisting with the planning, initiation, and execution of trials, and ensuring smooth operations from start-up to close-out Support data capture and verification for clinical trials, maintaining accurate records and ensuring compliance with regulations Follow ethics guidelines and workplace health and safety regulations, preparing materials for committee submissions Build productive relationships with research staff, trial sponsors, and external vendors, facilitating effective communication and collaboration Uphold the principles of Good Clinical Practice (GCP) in all clinical trials, ensuring that ethical and scientific quality standards are met in design, conduct, recording, and reporting Take the lead in handling stakeholder communications, ensuring that concerns are addressed effectively and timely while fostering a culture of trust and collaboration within the work area and beyond Facilitate timely report submission, uphold data integrity according to university systems, and partner with managers to advance compliance initiatives Supported by the FMH media team, create patient avatars & eLearning for training physiotherapists to deliver Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for Insomnia in the trial. About you Bachelors degree in relevant field or equivalent combination of relevant training and experience Strong knowledge of complex musculoskeletal conditions & their management Experience in delivering clinical skills training activities Desirable to have experience as a practising health professional Experience in manuscript writing Willingness to learn new skills in AI related fields Willingness to be trained in Phlebotomy for the trial Experience in clinical trial coordination or a similar role Solid understanding of clinical research and Good Clinical Practice Experience with ethics and governance processes and preparing and submitting trial documentation Effective communication, planning and organisation skills and strong attention to detail Proven experience in a research-intensive environment.
