As a Staff Engineer, you will lead critical technical initiatives in our core payments domain, directly shaping how users pay at merchants - whether it’s tapping a phone in-store, checking out online, or using a digital wallet. Your work ensures these transactions are fast, secure, and seamless across millions of payment moments. You are crafting the backbone of a payment platform that prioritizes security, scalability, reliability, and business impact. You’ll operate across teams, systems, and stakeholder boundaries to deliver meaningful outcomes.

YOUR EXPERIENCE

• Proven track record as a Staff Engineer or senior Individual Contributor leading technical initiatives across multiple engineering teams
• Hands-on expertise in building secure, scalable services (preferably in fintech or regulated industries)
• Deep domain knowledge in distributed systems, event-driven architecture, or payment infrastructure
• Experience with Kotlin or Java, Spring Boot, and cloud platforms (preferably Google Cloud Platform)
• Familiarity with PCI-DSS, PSD2, or similar frameworks is a strong plusStrong communication and collaboration skills - across engineering, product, and business
• Fluent English language, German language is not required (but a plus for client-facing collaboration)
