Description

We are seeking a highly motivated Materials & Logistics Manager to join our client’s supply chain leadership team located in Greater Victoria. This key role is responsible for the safe and efficient management of all materials and logistics personnel and activities, ensuring the right parts are delivered to the right place at the right time. The ideal candidate will be a leader who can coach and mentor employees to develop robust processes, drive continuous improvement, and increase overall efficiency.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Over 5 years of relevant experience in procurement, order fulfillment, warehouse management, or logistics.
  • Post-secondary education in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field, or extensive relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in a leadership role with a focus on team building and employee development.
  • A solid understanding of lean manufacturing principles and practices.
  • Proficiency with an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system (e.g., Visual, IFS, SAP) is considered an asset.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to deal with all levels of an organization.
  • Experience in the aerospace industry or a manufacturing environment is an asset.

Responsibilities
  • Lead, manage, and coach all materials and logistics personnel, ensuring employees comply with company policies and procedures.
  • Promote high safety values within the team and oversee all aspects of employee management, including hiring, training, and performance evaluations.
  • Direct and oversee all material flow activities, including receiving, stocking, picking, issuing, dispatching, and shipping.
  • Ensure all incoming and outgoing products are handled in accordance with quality policies and procedures.
  • Manage the cycle counting process to maintain inventory accuracy and implement corrective actions for continuous improvement.
  • Develop and mentor the team in proactive thinking and root cause analysis to resolve material issues.
  • Report on key performance indicators (KPIs) and lead weekly meetings to review the performance of the organization.
