DESIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • Degree in Marketing, English, Business, Communications, Liberal Arts, or somewhat of a related field
  • Minimum 5+ years of related work experience
  • Proficient in utilizing Adobe Creative Suite (Adobe In-Design, Illustrator, and Acrobat Pro) and Microsoft Office Suite software (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)

SKILLS/COMPETENCIES:

  • Strong facilitation, leadership, and communication skills to lead capture teams through the pursuit lifecycle
  • Ability to think outside of the box and bring forward new and exciting ideas
  • Excellent written, interpersonal, and communication skills (ability to write executive summaries, cover letters and other non-technical sections)
  • Able to inspire outstanding work from team members with a range of experience and technical abilities in the development of proposal documents
  • In addition, he/she must be capable of adapting to changing priorities in a very dynamic work environment and demonstrate the ability to exercise tact and diplomacy to effectively resolve quality and production problems in stressful situations with critical deadlines (this is not your typical 9-5 job, evening and weekend work may be required)

Responsibilities

Proposal Preparation:

  • Performs detailed analysis of RFP/RFQ/RFI documents to assess requirements and develop compelling proposal narratives that demonstrate our value proposition
  • Develops a detailed compliance matrix and schedule outlining the entire pursuit process through proposal delivery
  • Facilitates proposal kick-off meeting and colour reviews (pink, red, green) to ensure we produce quality deliverables that differentiate us from our competitors and provide value to our clients
  • Collaborate with our graphics team to establish templates and standards for proposal look and feel, writing style, and layout
  • Responsible for writing non-technical portions of the proposal (i.e., cover letters, executive summaries, project descriptions, resumes, team qualifications, various management plans, win themes and discriminators etc.)
  • Reviews all proposal draft and final document versions to ensure responsiveness to RFP, thoroughness, accuracy, and quality while ensuring the document layout and design maximizes the selling impact and readability of the proposal through effective visualizations
  • Identifies any potential problems that may arise during the proposal development process and develops effective solutions
  • Provides oversight and guidance on proposal work assignments requested of the graphics and technical staff, as well as provide constructive feedback on the work products. Establishes a production schedule and resource plan to ensure all required proposal documents are produced properly and delivered on time. This may include working with print vendors, if proposal documents are produced out of house
  • Responsible for conducting a quality review of the final printed proposal documents and perform a detailed compliance check against the RFP requirements to ensure the submission is of high quality, and accurate (ensures the Three Cs of proposal development (compelling, compliant, comprehensive are incorporated)
  • Collaborates with the Project Manager and BD Manager to develop the content for client presentations and other presentation materials
  • Oversees the development and preparation of the PowerPoint slides, as well as the production of any other required materials
