In this role you’ll be a leader providing quality oversight of small teams conducting performance audits on the Auditor-General’s behalf. It’s a challenging role full of variety that gives you a unique view of the public sector in Tasmania. For the successful candidate we will provide the tools for you to excel in this role including training and networking with peers from across Australasia. It’s an excellent extension to your career. If this sounds like the job for you, we’d love to hear from you, especially if you have experience in: • Leading teams and overseeing the project management of complex work on research or evaluation projects in the public sector • Coordinating the analysis of financial or other data, including qualitative analysis (e-discovery) • Leading state government reviews or inquiries. HOURS PER FORTNIGHT 73.50 hours per fortnight - flexible options available.  DUTIES 1. Simultaneously manages a number of whole of government, sensitive, complex audits and also audits undertaken by other staff and other projects which may include concurrent national audits with other audit offices. 2. Provides oversight, high level guidance and quality control on audits led by other senior members of the section. 3. Assists the Chief Performance Auditor in resource allocation and planning, based on applying the goals and objectives of the Office and balancing the progress of specific audits against internal performance targets. 4. Provides leadership and guidance to staff together with management of senior staff in the section in line with the Office’s Performance Management Framework. 5. Maintains regular contact with key senior management in audited bodies to ensure that they are aware of what is being audited, what metrics have been developed and/or are being applied and any matters that may impact on management and reporting in their organisation. 6. Understands emerging trends and products to determine the range of information technology and computer systems relevant to current and future business needs. Utilises current information technology and computer systems to complete audit work, analyse data and enhance audit methodologies. 7. Develops and maintains stakeholder relationships, providing high level technical advice on performance areas and their measurement, drafting reports, opinions, briefings and presentations for internal and external stakeholders including ACAG, Parliament. 8. Deputises for the Chief Performance Auditor when required. 9. Contributes to team and office cohesiveness and maintains professional and collaborative relationships within Audit Tasmania, leading or contributing to section and cross-office projects. Performance is measured against Key Performance Indicators that are developed and agreed to for each role in the Office and documented in annual Performance Plans.
