The Fabrication Supervisor supervises the activities of production personnel engaged in all aspects of the manufacturing function. Specific responsibilities include communicating job expectations, planning and monitoring work, appraising job results and managing an assigned workforce. Key accountabilities include meeting production schedules by establishing priorities, allocating necessary staff and revising schedules as necessary. Identify and implement quality and continuous initiatives. Position Details: · Maintains staff results by communicating job expectations; planning and monitoring work; appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; enforcing policies and procedures; assisting employees in solving problems; training employees. · Performs all supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organizations policies and procedures, collective bargaining agreement and applicable employment laws. · Implement appropriate discipline per the collective bargaining agreement and company guidelines recommending termination of employment when necessary. · Responsible for responding to work-related issues and emergencies as appropriate in timely manner regardless of the time of day. · Maintains staff by orienting and training employees. · Maintains workflow by reassigning work; facilitating corrective actions and employee transfers; fostering a spirit of cooperation between departments. · Completes production schedules by assigning employees; establishing priorities; monitoring progress; recommending revisions to schedule; resolving problems; reporting results. · Maintains and approves all work records utilizing automated time & attendance system for attendance and payroll applications. · Maintains safe and clean work environment by educating and directing employees on the use of PPE, tools, equipment, and resources; maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures. · Maintains working relationship with the union by following the terms of the collective bargaining agreement. · Maintains quality service by enforcing organization standards. · Ensures operation of equipment and tools by calling for repairs; evaluating new equipment and techniques; requisitioning new tools and equipment. · Provides manufacturing information by compiling production performance records and data; answering questions and responding to requests. · Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, seminars, etc.; participating in professional societies; reviewing professional publications. · Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. · Know and follow procedures and policies relevant to job functions and Follett Corporation. · Perform other duties as apparent or assigned.
