We sell through Amazon, direct-to-consumer (DtC) channels, and retail. We co-develop brands with creators and communities such as Zumba and help other brands develop high-quality products through our B2B services. As the Senior R&D Manager (f/m/x), you will play a critical role in developing and improving our product portfolio. You will lead research initiatives in DTC and B2B projects, oversee product formulation, and work closely with cross-functional teams to bring innovative, and effective solutions to market.

Aufgaben

• Take the lead in hands-on lab work for the development and refining of innovative FMCG formulations and products focusing on insect repellents/biocides, pet care and home & garden products.
• Monitor the stability of the products and implement solutions for failures.
• Drive B2B client projects throughout the entire lifecycle, from conceptualization to actualization, focusing on laboratory activities.
• Supervise and mentor a team of 3, fostering a culture of research excellence.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including brand management, procurement, regulatory, quality and operations to align R&D efforts with business objectives.
• Act as the key R&D expert for safety assessments, claim support, and biocide registration.
• Establish partnerships with external laboratories, suppliers, and research institutions.
• Manage R&D timelines, and project priorities.
• Develop and maintain thorough documentation for all R&D activities.

Qualifikation

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in chemistry, biochemistry, agriculture or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in R&D, preferably in insect repellents/biocides, home & garden, or pet care product development, with a proven track record of successful product launches.
• Deep understanding of formulation chemistry, product stability, and ingredient interactions.
• Familiar with EU regulation in biocides and cosmetics (ex. Regulation (EC) N° 1223/2009, BAuA registrations, extended allergens etc.).
• Familiar and following ISO 22716:2007 - Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and other laboratory and quality related ISOs.
• Familiar with microbiology, PET and Patch Tests.
• First experience leading a team, ideally with hands-on mentoring in a research setting.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders/ clients.
• Business fluent in both German and English.
