The Procurement Manager oversees the full sourcing and purchasing lifecycle, ensuring cost‑effective decisions and strong supplier performance. This role is responsible for maintaining appropriate inventory levels, supporting smooth product flow, and ensuring accurate documentation from vendors through to customers. The position also manages and resolves issues related to back‑orders, short‑ships, and delivery delays. Working under the general direction of the Director of Procurement, this role exercises independent judgment in daily operations and provides leadership to a team of 3–4 procurement staff members. · Lead and develop a team of 3–4 Buyers, providing guidance and performance support. · Source non‑standard or specialty items requested by the sales team outside core product lines. · Negotiate pricing, quantities, and delivery schedules to ensure competitive and reliable supply. · Oversee inventory levels and manage purchase order activity to maintain consistent product flow. · Partner with vendors to resolve issues related to orders, shipments, or documentation. · Monitor and report on commodity market trends and movements. · Analyze purchasing data and track spend to support strategic decision‑making. · Collaborate with internal stakeholders to meet and exceed customer expectations for delivery and quality. · Identify and recommend opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
