We are seeking a Senior Accountant / Certified Accountant (m/f/d) for our client through our recruitment services. In this demanding position, you will play a key role in finance and accounting, ensuring the accurate recording of all business transactions and the timely preparation of financial statements. Furthermore, you will actively contribute your experience to process optimization and the further development of the finance department.

Your future responsibilities:

  • Responsibility for ongoing financial and balance sheet accounting
  • Ensuring proper accounting in accordance with the German Commercial Code (HGB)
  • Preparation and support for monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements
  • Conducting account analyses, reconciliations, and plausibility checks.
  • Processing of complex accounting issues as well as provisions and accruals
  • Preparation of reports, evaluations and business analyses
  • Support with internal and external audits and financial audits
  • Collaboration with tax advisors, auditors and specialist departments
  • Participation in the optimization, digitization and standardization of financial processes
  • Support for projects in the areas of accounting and controlling

Your profile for the position of Senior Accountant / Balance Sheet Accountant (m/f/d):

  • Successfully completed commercial training with further education as a certified accountant (IHK) or comparable qualification
  • Alternatively, a completed degree with a focus on finance, accounting or business administration
  • Several years of professional experience in finance and accounting
  • Sound knowledge of accounting and financial reporting according to the German Commercial Code (HGB).
  • Experience in preparing monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements
  • Confident handling of SAP or comparable ERP systems
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office, especially Excel
  • Strong analytical skills and a high affinity for numbers
  • Structured, independent and solution-oriented work style
  • Excellent German skills and good English skills, both spoken and written.
