Job Description
PORTCO, Inc is a non-stock, non-profit, 501(C) (3) corporation located in Suffolk, Virginia. PORTCO was founded in 1991 as an Employment Service Organization to provide transitional, supported employment and vocational services to individuals with disabilities who could not otherwise find and maintain competitive employment on their own.
This position is responsible for assisting in ensuring that the janitorial/cleaning duties and responsibilities of those persons assigned to them are completed in accordance with the established contracts. This position will assist with the coordination of information concerning inspections and maintenance of required equipment and documentation and training. This position is to supervise a work crew and perform contractual janitorial duties as necessary. This is a working supervisor position.
Assist in overseeing in house services such as cleaning, maintenance/repair and other assigned services.
Inspects work performed to ensure that it meets specifications and established standards.
Instructs and trains employees in work policies and procedures and the use and maintenance of equipment; health and safety procedures and other relevant trainings.
Assists in preparing employee work schedules. Inventories stock to ensure that supplies and equipment are available in adequate amounts.
Prepares activity and personnel reports. Maintains required records of work hours, payroll, work performed, time studies, and other information.
Participates in staff training and development activities. Attends all mandatory meetings.
Performs and assists with cleaning duties as necessary.
Oversees and assists with the vocational needs of those employees with varying disabilities.

Requirements: Any combination of training, experience or education that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the essential functions of the position. At least one year experience in commercial janitorial services with increasing responsibility is preferred.
