We are looking for a Senior Security Assurance Engineer to join a fast-paced team solving complex security and systems focused problems in the sovereign cloud security space. To accomplish this, you will work closely with distributed engineering, product management, and customer experience teams across Microsoft, as well as the customers themselves - leveraging the best of what Microsoft has to offer. The Senior Security Assurance Engineer will play a key role in driving efforts to improve security of the sovereign cloud environment. This includes working with teams throughout the organization to identify and address security vulnerabilities, compliance issues, and educating users on security best practices. The SAE will leverage their broad Security experience to design and implement solutions to security challenges in the Azure environment. Responsibilities Conduct targeted security and threat models reviews to identify known and unknown vulnerabilities and weaknesses. Conduct emerging Threat and Vulnerability Research. Identify and evaluate new areas for research, perform analysis into emerging threats, including proactive security research on the technologies that Azure and our customers utilize and depend on. Coordinate planning and execution with internal engineering teams, business partners and technical leaders across the division to deliver security solutions across the clouds. Other Requirements: Security Clearance Requirements: Candidates must be able to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Candidates must have an active TS and be willing to upgrade to TS/SCI (with polygraph). Proficiency in at least one modern compiled language (e.g., C#, Java, C++). CISSP, CASP+, or similar certifications. Active U.S. Government Top Secret Clearance with access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) based on a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) with Polygraph. Security Assurance IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $119,800 - $234,700 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $158,400 - $258,000 per year.
