Vancouver Coastal Health is looking for a Registered Nurse or Registered Psychiatric Nurse to join the team at Joseph and Rosalie Segal Family Health Centre at Vancouver General Hospital (VGH). This position will work across various Segal Inpatient Mental Health and Substance Use units (Segal levels 5, 6 and 8) and in the VGH Psychiatric Assessment Unit. Apply today to join our team! Psychiatric inpatient services provide assessment and treatment to adults who require acute 24-hour management in a hospital setting. There are 75 beds focused on clients who require longer-term, intensive treatment to return to their community. The length of stay is approximately five to 12 days. The Segal Psychiatric Inpatient Units include: Brief Intervention Unit – Segal 5th floor Mood Disorders – Segal 6th floor Inpatient Psychiatry – Segal 7th floor Inpatient Psychiatry & Concurrent Disorders – Segal 8th floor About the Psychiatric Assessment Unit (PAU) at Vancouver General Hospital (VGH)The Psychiatric Assessment Unit at Vancouver General Hospital is a 14-bed short stay unit focused on clients who require short term, intensive treatment to return to their community, with length of stay being approximately three days. At PAU, Nurses support patients with their physical and mental health needs as well as day-to-day activities. The PAU team endeavors to provide a safe place that promotes acute psychiatric stabilization for patients in a comforting, caring and holistic environment.
