About the Role: The Mail Clerk Assistant position is responsible for providing on-site Mail Operations and other administrative and facilities support for all offices in a regional federal government site. Normal operating hours are Monday through Friday 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Assist with mail receipt, processing, scanning, electronic distribution, and physical dispatch for all offices at a federal government site. Ensure all mail is handled securely and in compliance with established security protocols. Organize all mail carts and tubs used to pick up and deliver mail to ensure the orderly flow of mail received and delivered during a mail run. Operate mail processing equipment (postage meters, scanners, shipping systems) and maintain accurate logs, records, and tracking documentation. Communicate proactively with supervisors regarding mail status, issues, or delays to support the efficiency of daily operations. Requirements Citizenship and Background: Must be a U.S. citizen and able to obtain a public trust clearance. Education: High school diploma or equivalent Experience: Minimum 2 years in administrative support functions Skills and Abilities: Must be able to bend, stoop and lift up to 70 pounds overhead or onto moving equipment. Demonstrated accurate data entry and reporting skills and exceptional organizational skills. Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to function in high-pressure situations.
