Cherokee Steel Fabricators, located in White Oak, Texas, is seeking an experienced Industrial Structural Steel Draftsman with experience in detailed technical drawings and plans for the structural components of industrial refineries, facilities, and related infrastructure, with the use of CAD software to translate design concepts into accurate and comprehensive blueprints, ensuring compliance with building codes and project specifications.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

Technical Skills: Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, Tekla) is essential, along with strong technical drawing and spatial reasoning skills. Proficiency in Microsoft applications (e.g. Excel, Word). Understanding of structural engineering principles, building codes, and construction practices.
Attention to Detail: Accuracy and meticulousness in creating and reviewing drawings are crucial.
Communication: Effective communication and teamwork skills are needed for collaborating with various project stakeholders.
Problem-Solving: Ability to identify and resolve design issues and discrepancies.
Experience: 3 years of relevant experience in industrial structural steel drafting required
Education: High school diploma or GED required.

Work Location: In perso

Drafting: Producing detailed drawings, plans, and models of structural components (e.g., steel frames, walkways, Platforms and associated connections) for industrial projects using Tekla, AutoCAD, Revit.
Collaboration: Working closely with Cherokee Steel Fabricators General Manager, Sales Team, purchasing team, Quality Control Personnel, Shop Personnel, and engineers, architects, and other construction professionals to ensure design accuracy and project alignment.
Code Compliance: Ensuring all drawings and designs adhere to relevant building codes, industry standards, and project specifications.
Documentation: Preparing and maintaining accurate project documentation, including drawings, specifications, and revisions.
Quality Control: Reviewing and revising drawings based on feedback from project managers and engineers, ensuring quality and accuracy.
Material Calculations: Calculating material quantities, dimensions, and stresses for structural elements.
