JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a dedicated and organized Medical Office Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our medical office by providing exceptional administrative support and assisting with patient care. This position requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

EXPERIENCE

• Previous experience in a medical office or dental office setting is highly preferred.
• Familiarity with electronic medical records systems, particularly Telus CHR, is advantageous.
• Strong understanding of medical terminology is essential for effective communication within the healthcare team.
• Prior experience as a medical receptionist or in an administrative role within a healthcare environment is beneficial.
• Ability to demonstrate excellent organizational skills and attention to detail in all tasks performed.

• Greet patients and visitors in a friendly and professional manner at the front desk.
• Manage multi-line phone systems to handle incoming calls, schedule appointments, and respond to inquiries.
• Maintain accurate electronic medical records (EMR) and ensure patient information is up-to-date.
• Assist with insurance verification and processing of patient information.
• Utilize software such as Telus CHR for patient management and record keeping.
• Coordinate with healthcare providers to facilitate patient care and follow-up appointments.
• Chase referrals
• Handle administrative tasks including filing, data entry, and managing office supplies.
• Ensure compliance with medical terminology standards and maintain confidentiality of patient records.
• Ensure a smooth process with the intake and rostering of new patients
• You will be expected to triage and to take patient to the consulting rooms.
