The Tactical Radars and Effectors department within Raytheon Hardware Engineering supports the development, production, and deployment of multiple defense products including radars, missiles, command and control systems, and naval electronics. This Mechanical Engineer II role will support the Sentinel radar product line based in Fullerton, CA and may require domestic and international travel to suppliers. What You Will Do Working within a team environment to develop innovative mechanical subsystems with solid modeling practices and drawing creation using CAD tools such as Creo Parametric, Solidworks, or equivalent. Develop preliminary sketches, diagrams, and other engineering information to generate 3-D design models and/or conceptual designs Exposure to solid modeling practices and drawing creation using CAD tools such as Creo Parametric, Solidworks, or equivalent. Basic knowledge of fabrication processes, capabilities and limitations Provide Mechanical Engineering solutions on production issues to functional leadership and engagement for resources (Subject Matter Experts, etc.) to resolve production issues rapidly and efficiently. Collaborate with functional team leads for the integration efforts across the Cross Product Teams in the Sentinel portfolio to ensure successful system design, integration, production and program execution. Provide radar technical data package (TDP) support that includes design, development, manufacturing, and failure investigation solutions Understanding of and disciplined application of tools / processes / approaches / instructions across the radar product life cycle Participant in the Engineering changes process, peer review process, Engineering Documentation Standards (EDS) implementation, Configuration Control Board (CCB) participant as required by command media Supports program growth and technology insertion strategies working closely with the functional leaders, program technical leadership, and Program Office.
