We are looking for a detail-oriented Financial Analyst to join our team on a long-term contract basis in Waterloo, Ontario. In this role, you will play a vital part in supporting financial planning, reporting, and analysis functions. This is a hybrid position, requiring three days per week on-site and two days working remotely.

• Conduct in-depth financial analysis, comparing actual performance to budgeted forecasts.
• Prepare and review monthly accruals to ensure accuracy and compliance with financial guidelines.
• Generate financial reports and statements to support decision-making processes.
• Assist in updating forecasts and budgets to reflect current financial conditions.
• Collaborate with the finance team to produce accurate financial statements and reports.
• Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
• Support month-end closing activities, including preparation and submission of accruals.
• Utilize tools such as Oracle and Microsoft Excel to manage and analyze financial data.
• Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in financial analysis or a related field.
• Strong understanding of accruals and their role in financial reporting.
• Proficiency in budget preparation, forecasting, and financial planning processes.
• Hands-on experience with tools like Oracle and advanced Microsoft Excel functions.
• Ability to analyze financial statements and identify key insights.
• Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
• Effective communication skills for collaborating with cross-functional teams.
