DESCRIPTION

Merseyrail is seeking an experienced and highly organised Executive Manager to provide confidential and comprehensive support to the Managing Director and Directorate. This role is critical in ensuring the Managing Director’s office is managed efficiently, governance activities are delivered effectively, and the Directorate support team is led to a high standard.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERTISE

• Proven experience working with or supporting a Board, including preparing papers, managing actions and producing accurate minutes.
• Experience in leading and managing a team.
• Significant experience supporting senior executives in a busy, confidential environment.
• Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to balance conflicting priorities.
• Strong IT skills, particularly Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

• Manage the complex diary and priorities of the Managing Director, ensuring alignment across the Directorate.
• Act as the first point of contact for all correspondence, handling communications with professionalism and discretion.
• Plan, organize and provide secretariat support for board-level meetings, including preparing agendas, collating papers, tracking actions and producing accurate minutes.
• Lead and manage the Directorate support team, ensuring delivery of daily responsibilities.
• Arrange travel, accommodation and events for the Managing Director in a timely and cost-effective manner.
• Maintain effective electronic and paper-based filing systems.
• Build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
