A K-12 educational institution in Aurora, CO is seeking a skilled Teacher specializing in Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) students for the upcoming school year on a contract basis. This role focuses on providing high-quality instruction and support tailored to the unique needs of students with hearing impairments, ensuring they receive equitable access to the curriculum and opportunities for academic success.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement individualized educational programs (IEPs) for students with hearing impairments
• Adapt teaching methods and materials to accommodate diverse learning styles and communication needs
• Collaborate with speech therapists, audiologists, and other specialists to support student development
• Use and instruct on assistive listening devices and communication technologies
• Monitor student progress and adjust interventions accordingly
• Facilitate communication between students, parents, and staff to foster an inclusive learning environment
• Participate in professional development and team meetings related to DHH education

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Valid state teaching certification with endorsement or specialization in Deaf / Hard of Hearing education
• Experience teaching K-12 students in special education settings, particularly those with hearing impairments
• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) or other relevant communication methods preferred
• Strong understanding of audiological assessments and assistive technologies
• Excellent communication, organizational, and collaborative skills
