We are looking for a motivated, hands-on, passionate individual to develop new space hardware for communication satellites.   We are actively seeking a Mechanical Engineer III to join our Mechanical Engineering team.   Essential Duties and Responsibilities:  * In this position, you will own the complete lifecycle of space hardware from initial electrical/RF design concept to production & unit delivery * Perform mechanical analyses (vibration, thermal, radiation) on new product designs to ensure survival to launch and on-orbit environments * Rapidly prototype & iterate on designs   Qualifications Basic Qualifications: * Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering from an accredited university or institution * 3–5 years of industry experience with mechanical or electromechanical design, analysis, and/or manufacturing * Experience with CAD and FEA software packages, preferably SolidWorks * Solid knowledge of GD&T * Self-motivated with strong interpersonal skills   Preferred Skills and Experience: * Master’s of Science in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering; or other engineering discipline * 5+ years of mechanical engineering experience; preferably in design and analysis of electronics/microwave packaging for space applications * Knowledge of high mix, low volume manufacturing methods, i.e. CNC manufacturing * Previous ownership of component design from concept to aerospace industry qualification and production * Rapid prototyping & design iteration * Working closely with RF engineers and proficiency with microwave assemblies * Working on mechanical design of PCAs with PCB designers (layout, thermal, vibration)
